Harper Government Launches Anti-Cancer Strategy August 2007

Dear Constituent,

In this edition of Staying Connected, I wanted to point out some of the great strides our government has made in a cause that affects almost every family.

Recently, Prime Minister Harper launched the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. This initiative, a partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, was announced with new funding from the federal government of over $50 Million per year. These funds will go towards better screening, prevention, and research to help achieve the goal of defeating cancer.

If you would like more information on the Strategy, click here. I’ve also included some helpful links below to outline what our government has been doing to support healthy families.

As with most things, prevention is the best medicine. As we enjoy the final days of the summer, please be sure to remember to use plenty of sunscreen when outdoors.

Wishing you and your family all the best!

- Jason
